The sanitary authorities recommend a &#8220;healthy\ndiet&#8221;, by increasing the consumption of fresh products, especially fruits\nand vegetables, and reducing the consumption of foods rich in saturated fats,\nsalt and added sugars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To lead a healthy lifestyle, the Silestone Institute\noffers advice on how to prepare meals and transport them to school, keeping\nfood in optimum condition without losing its properties, as well as other\nprecautions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Practical tips for a healthy and hygienic lunch box:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Food handling:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Before\nhandling food, we should wash our hands and always use clean utensils, not\nallowing food to come into contact with any surface that has not been\npreviously sanitized.<\/li><li>Change\nutensils for each type of food: raw and cooked, thus avoiding cross-contamination.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Planning:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Organize\na weekly menu to ensure that you do not lack proteins and vitamins. To do this,\nyou should take into account the recommended proportions for each food group.\nPrepare single dishes that include four to six food groups (vegetables,\nfarinaceous, protein, olive oil, fruit, dairy).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Appetizing lunch box:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Try to\nmake the contents of the lunch box as appetizing as possible: combine different\ncolors and tastes. In addition, it is a good idea to ask your children to help\nyou with the daily lunch box. This way, you can explain to them the difference\nbetween each type of food and why they are important.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tupper choice:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Glass,\nfor example, is much more fragile and heavier, but at the same time more\nhygienic and convenient as it allows eating directly from the container. On the\nother hand, plastic is lighter, but less hygienic, as it is more difficult to\nclean when the dish contains oil, fats, or sauces. It should be noted that both\nmaterials can be microwavable and therefore there is no risk to food safety.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cold dishes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>For\ncold dishes, put the portion in a clean container, close it hermetically and\nkeep it in the refrigerator. Take it out just before leaving home. If this is\nnot possible, make sure that the cold accumulator will maintain a refrigeration\ntemperature (at least 5\u00baC) until it is consumed.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Egg-based preparations:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Avoid\negg-based preparations, especially if they are raw (without heat treatment)\nsuch as mayonnaise sauces. It is preferable to prepare, for example, a salad\nand add commercial mayonnaise at the time of consumption.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hot dishes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In the\ncase of hot preparations: let them cool previously at room temperature for no\nmore than one hour (never put them hot in the refrigerator). Immediately afterwards\ncover tightly and store refrigerated.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stable and sanitized products:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Always\nopt for stable and sanitized products: for example, cured cheeses versus fresh\nones, industrial desserts or dairy products versus homemade ones, steak versus\nomelet, etc.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Consume them in the short term:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Do not\nconsume food prepared more than 48 hours in advance or if there is any doubt\nabout its condition.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do not reuse:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Never\nreuse or freeze any leftovers from homemade preparations consumed outside the\nhome.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Preventive measures: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Finally,\nand very importantly, do not forget to take the preventive measures recommended\nby the health authorities to protect ourselves from Covid-19: safety social\ndistance, hand washing or use of alcohol gel, and the use of masks.<br>\n<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Don&#8217;t forget to include in your children&#8217;s backpack:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Disposable\nmask and paper or cloth bag to keep it at mealtime.<\/li><li>Tissues\nor Kleenex to cover nose and mouth when not wearing a mask, in case of coughing\nor sneezing attacks.<\/li><li>Individual\nwater bottle marked so that there is no confusion (no sharing liquids or food\nis allowed).<\/li><li>A\nsmall bottle of hydroalcoholic gel (although they will be available in each\nclassroom and at the entrance of the centers).<\/li><li>Small\ntoiletry bag with hand soap and towel so as not to use the one in the common\nbathrooms.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Following these recommendations will help you to\nensure that your children&#8217;s return to school is not a problem but an enjoyable\nexperience, while encouraging healthy eating and a safe return to school.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Summer is over and school is back in session.
