New colors to transform spaces

TRENDS FLASH BY SILESTONE INSTITUTE

If you are thinking of renovating your home after the summer, we propose you some color trends for you to give your house a change.

New color impacts and emotions

The moment of evolution and permanent change also affects color.

Colors also undergo transformations as materials innovate and technology advances, which has a direct impact on the appearance of new gradations of color shades.

A very different current visual experience focused on the relationship between color and perception. We are assimilating and learning to value a different contemporary conception of color, both representative and cultural, related to design and architecture.

In the era of sensory design and new experiences, trends point to new conceptions of color, new applications, and new names for them.

“Colors mark the emotions and sensations of the spaces we live in. Today, more than ever, it is transcendental to adapt interiors and lighting to the different new shades and textures of color” Marisa Santamaría, researcher and disseminator of global design trends.

1- Color recycling

One of the main factors in the current conceptions of color is the recycling of materials. The mixture of residues provides singular and different colors to which we are not used to. At the beginning it was tried to have conventional shades, but nowadays, in the resulting processes, the natural color is left, which entails a new visual education. Designers all over the world are renaming the resulting colors, indefinable and difficult to catalog for the moment, in a process that is beginning to be called “Recycling-Recolored.

2- Innovative interiors and colors

The so-called “Total Color Block”, total color, can no longer be considered a trend, it is a continuous current, an impact that serves to create unique spatial sensations. Another of its inevitable uses is to awaken recognition on social networks, a recurrent way of communication for designers, both product and interior designers. There are countless professionals who have made color their flag, their narrative line of work. A single color multiplied in all its density in lighting, furniture and all the textures and elements that can be perceived.

3- Colored buildings

Polychrome architecture is part of the history of man and his constructions, as a tool for interaction in the use of buildings and for identification. The effects of colorful architecture on the users of the different constructions give meaning to health, entertainment, or domestic experience, are represented by a specific painting, however, in recent years these colors lose their limitations and cross in a more flexible and unprejudiced way.

4- The advance of material tones

The new materials applied, and new technologies favor the appearance of new shades. Home, office, commercial or recreational spaces change, improving their habitability or functionality thanks to new colors and materials, to the reflection of new chromatic relationships and texture. The relationship with matter surrounds us and conditions the daily actions of people, their interaction with spaces.
